POPPY

Poppy is a great example for the fact that one plant can have many different uses and also that different parts of the plan can be very unique or specific.

We can simply eat poppy, the young leaves in salads look beautiful and taste a little bit like cucumbers. The green leaves can be cooked like spinach.

In Herbal Medicine the red leaves of the flower have a traditional use for coughs and sore throats. They have been found beneficial in small infants for colics, tension and sleep disturbances.
